Sri Lanka is home to 21 million people, many of whom live in remote villages and mountainous terrain. It has 5.97 million connections and enjoys a 99.7% electrification rate. ADB continuously supports the country's efforts to make its energy sector more energy efficient. It currently has six ongoing energy projects in the country and three more are in the pipeline.
