Established in 2011, the Governance Commission on Government Owned and Controlled Corporations is a relatively small organization comprising 120 staff with oversight over 156 Government Owned and Controlled Corporations. The Commission's Manual for the FOI program focuses on the promotion of openness in Government with the duty to make information accessible and available, use of a document management system, protection of privacy, actual procedure for accessing information, and providing for administrative liability.
