Improving agriculture education, particularly the application of new ideas and technologies, is crucial in achieving food security in Asia.

Switching from labor-intensive to a more knowledge-intensive agriculture--the application of smart farming and green technology, along with increased investments--may just be the key to increased food security in Asia and the Pacific. ADB's Sungsup Ra, in this keynote address at the Knowledge-Intensive Agriculture Workshop on 15-16 June 2017, proposes a reassessment and revamp of agriculture education in Asia and the Pacific toward a more knowledge-intensive agriculture.
