Cities worldwide suffer from traffic congestion and environmental pollution and switching to electric vehicles will not be enough to address these challenges. Characterized as safe, durable, and environmentally friendly, the urban ropeway system was developed as an alternative transport solution. Colombia’s Medellin Metrocable system is presented as a case study.
