Many social protection programs across Asia remain fragmented, lack transparency and accountability, and suffer from lack of strategic development priorities. Investing in ICT can help address these issues. ICT can be a powerful tool to manage social development programs efficiently and effectively. It can facilitate beneficiary identification and targeting, payment systems, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation.
