Addressing Disaster Risk through Improved Indicators and Land Use Management: Inception Phase Findings and Linkages to the Green Cities Initiative

Countries are becoming increasingly aware of the need for improved disaster risk management (DRM) practices. Urban DRM measures, however, are planned and implemented in a piecemeal manner. With the existence of apparent linkages, the need to recognize that land management plays a major role in urban DRM surfaces.
