Safe drinking water supply systems are often damaged during climate-related disasters; hence the risks for exposure of rural communities in developing countries to drinking microbiologically contaminated water consequently increase. The need to further develop point-of-use methods is crucial to meet the emergency water needs in current and changing contexts.
