Daily garbage production has increased as a result of rapid population growth in urban areas, including in the City of Las Piñas in the Philippines. The Las Piñas Sagip Ilog Program, having earned international recognition, has led to a web of sustainable social enterprises and ecologically sound solid waste management practices.
