Regulatory Sandbox Workshop (16 April 2019)

A sandbox is a process that enables developers to validate a concept that is either not permitted by current regulatory and/or policy frameworks or where there is regulatory ambiguity, to demonstrate commercial viability. By allowing experimentation in a controlled environment, unintended consequences can be discovered and addressed without introducing systemic risk.  The Regulatory Sandbox Workshop aims to provide a global overview of regulatory sandboxes as well as recommendations in establishing a regulatory sandbox to help participants identify specific gaps in the regulatory landscape and thereby enable targeted amendments rather than an overhaul of the entire system, creating a more efficient way to test and deploy new ideas.

Cybersecurity Workshop (17-18 April 2019)

Digital financial technologies have the potential to have a transformational impact on expanding access to finance to underserved populations, and in particular to those in remote and rural areas. Staying safe while transacting using digital technologies is key to maintaining trust in the system. As digital financial technologies are being integrated into projects, the Cybersecurity Workshop aims to build the capacity of stakeholders, as well as provide awareness and recommendations on how to strengthen cyber safety, crime and security when developing and introducing digital technologies in projects.
