Women Power—Smarter, Inclusive Energy Solutions
An Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF) 2019 Deep Dive Workshop
The main objective of the workshop was for participants to gain in-depth knowledge of the work done in the ADB energy portfolio to integrate gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) considerations, with a focus on practice in South Asia. Specific objectives include:
- Drawing lessons for practice in the Asia-Pacific region, both within the ADB and amongst ADB partners and external networks;
- A lateral learning exercise to assess the work done and to gain insights on how to build on current practice and further develop this work, with a focus on resilience, policy and planning, and;
- Explore new ways of collaboration and partnerships.
In addition, ACEF participants got a unique opportunity to gain in-depth and practical cross-disciplinary knowledge on the linkages, frameworks and methodologies, and practical application GESI considerations in the energy infrastructure sector. They also got a chance to engage with experts in this field, including those with engineering and social expertise; and interact with other participants, across disciplines, expertise, and operational contexts, through open discussions in a collaborative, peer-sharing and learning environment. Participants were also in a position to influence the ADB energy portfolio through constructive suggestions and inputs.
