Webinar on the Economic Impact of Exclusion Based on SOGIESC (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, Gender Expression, and Sex Characteristics) and the Promotion of Inclusion
7 June 2023

LGBTQIA+ people and communities continue to experience stigma and discrimination, which negatively affect their employment prospects and access to healthcare, education, and social protection. This type of exclusion is also detrimental to economies and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

This webinar examined the economic impact of exclusion based on sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and sex characteristics (SOGIESC) and the promotion of inclusion. It featured case studies from countries in Asia and the Pacific and a panel discussion on how to accelerate SOGIESC inclusion.
