Virtual Workshop on Low-Carbon Cooling

23 March 2022 to 25 March 2022

The promotion of energy-efficient, climate-friendly technology is critical to meeting developing Asia’s rapidly increasing demand for cooling while advancing net-zero carbon targets, climate change mitigation under the Paris Agreement, and the Sustainable Development Goals. However, such breakthroughs will require greater cooling technology knowledge and capacity in the region.

Cohosted by ADBI, the Asian Development Bank, and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in the United States, this virtual workshop highlighted new policy research on addressing climate-friendly cooling needs in developing Asian countries. The focus was on deployment challenges and viable policy and funding solutions.
