Series: Enhancing Tax Transparency and International Tax Cooperation of ADB Developing Member Countries Technical Workshop on the Implementation of Pillar Two Global Minimum Tax 16 to 19 June 2025 Malaysia SD3-PSMG supports the Advanced Workshop on the Implementation of Pillar Two Global Minimum Tax From 16 to 19 June 2025, at the request of Malaysia’s Inland Revenue Board, ADB, together with the Australian Taxation Office, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and His Majesty's Revenue and Customs, delivered a four and a half-day advanced technical workshop on the Implementation of Pilar Two Global Minimum Tax in Kuala Lumpur. The interactive sessions were designed for countries in the region that have already implemented the Pillar Two rules into their domestic legislation. The advanced workshop, following previous sessions in 2023 and 2024, focused on the next stages of implementation for jurisdictions involved, including the peer review process and the practicalities of administering the rules. With participants from Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam, the event facilitated regional dialogue and peer learning on pressing international tax issues, particularly on the implementation of Pillar Two Global Minimum Tax. This initiative is part of ADB’s broader support under the Asia Pacific Tax Hub, delivered through TA 10525 and the Domestic Resource Mobilization Trust Fund, to help DMCs implement and apply international tax standards.
