PRC: Jinan Trolley Bus System

In this Urban Studio session, the Cities Development Initiative for Asia (CDIA) presented how it supported the conceptualization of ADB's Jinan Sustainable Urban Mobility Development project. 

The project is aimed at demonstrating how a large city which was designed for private vehicles can be converted to a public transport oriented city. To provide up-front analysis and speed up project processing, CDIA was requested by the City and ADB to mobilize a team of consultants to conceptualize public transport related elements of a sustainable urban mobility strategy for Jinan City and to undertake a prefeasibility study of the Jinan government proposed trolleybus-based public transport network plan for the central urban areas of Jinan.

Urban Studio is an initiative of the ADB Urban Sector Group that aims to share knowledge and experiences.
