Measuring Individual-Level Multidimensional Deprivation
31 August 2026

Over the past three decades, Asia and the Pacific have achieved a remarkable reduction in extreme monetary poverty. Yet poverty is more than a lack of income. What forms of deprivation remain beyond the reach of conventional poverty measures? And what inequalities within households are overlooked when poverty is assessed at the household level?

Join the next Asian Impact webinar to explore how looking at deprivation at the individual level can reveal inequalities and disadvantages that household-level measures may overlook. The discussion will present key findings from the Key Indicators for Asia and the Pacific 2026 report and examine how these measures can complement existing poverty metrics, deepen our understanding of inequality, and inform policies that promote more inclusive and equitable development.
