Series: Joint Multilateral Development Bank Pavilion Mainstreaming Nature into Cross-Sectoral Policies and Investments 27 October 2026 Armenia The event will open with welcome remarks, followed by a 10-minute presentation of the new Natural Capital Toolkit and accompanying MOOC. The session will then transition to a 35-minute moderated panel discussion featuring representatives from the GEF, the IDB, the Natural Capital Alliance/Stanford University, and the Governments of Armenia and Belize, whose experiences are highlighted in the toolkit. The event will conclude with a 15-minute Q&A session with the audience. This launch event will showcase a new open-access resource designed to operationalize natural capital approaches and support countries in moving from concept to implementation. Built on more than a decade of practical experience across 16 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia, the toolkit consolidates real-world applications across ecosystems, sectors, and policy instruments. It demonstrates how natural capital assessments have informed public investment planning, fiscal policy, land-use decisions, and climate and biodiversity strategies. The discussion will explore the opportunities and challenges of mainstreaming natural capital into development planning, drawing on country experiences from Armenia and Belize. By highlighting practical lessons and implementation pathways, the event will position natural capital approaches as a critical enabler for achieving the goals of the GBF and integrating nature into cross-sectoral policies and investment decisions at scale.
