Leveraging Carbon Finance for Mobilizing Private Capital in Southeast Asia 23 October 2025 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., MNL time Southeast Asia has advanced its decarbonization efforts, but more ambitious action is needed to slow climate change. The region is well-positioned for the global shift to net zero, yet financing needs are immense and current investment falls short. Mobilizing private capital is therefore essential. Carbon finance offers a pathway by creating business opportunities, directing funds toward climate mitigation, and reducing investment risks when supported by clear, aligned policies on carbon pricing and markets. This event is organized by the ASEAN Catalytic Green Finance Facility (ACGF) in collaboration with Climate Change and Sustainable Development (CCSD) and hosted by ADB’s Southeast Asia Development Solutions (SEADS) platform. ACGF, an initiative of the ASEAN Infrastructure Fund jointly owned by ASEAN governments and ADB and managed by ADB, helps Southeast Asian governments prepare and finance green infrastructure projects that advance sustainability and climate resilience.
