Insight Thursday: Strengthening Climate Resilience at Scale While Leaving No One Behind 2 February 2023 This session explored the impacts of climate change in increasing poverty levels in the Asia and Pacific region, with the poor and vulnerable population, especially poor women, being disproportionately impacted. It also underscored the need for investments in resilience that were targeted at poor and vulnerable populations, along with support for strengthening local institutions, capacity, knowledge, and learning to mitigate these impacts. ADB has established the Community Resilience Partnership Program (CRPP) to help countries scale up climate adaptation investments at the local level that address the nexus of climate, poverty, and gender. The CRPP also provides opportunities for ADB to scale up climate actions through investments in social sectors, governance decentralization programs, livelihoods and financial inclusion.
