Automation and access to the internet are disrupting the job market. Some jobs that are present today may already be gone in the next decades. Career shifts may happen in the future, and slow movers could be left behind.

The seminar, which served as part of the 51st ADB Annual Meeting, discussed the future of jobs and skills in light of the rapid developments in technologies, urbanization, and labor mobility. Panelists identified how countries can develop their workforce more effectively to accelerate inclusive growth. Latest research and good practices on the future of jobs and skills, labor market scanning, education technology, entrepreneurship, and the role of higher education institutions were highlighted as well.
