59th ADB Annual Meeting: Civil Society Program - Empowering and Investing in Youth and Women for Sustainable Healthy Cities

Held as a side event to the 59th Annual Meeting of the ADB Board of Governors in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, the seminar Empowering and Investing in Youth and Women for Sustainable Healthy Cities served as an engaging platform for stakeholders to connect, exchange insights, and shape future-focused dialogue. The session highlighted real-world engagement approaches demonstrating how youth leadership can support solutions in mobility, health, and climate action. Youth panelists from the Youth for Road Safety Network shared experiences on how community engagement can help transform sustainable development.

The 2026 ADB Annual Meeting is being held from 3 to 6 May under the theme “Crossroads of Progress: Advancing the Region’s Connected Future.”

The ADB Annual Meeting brings together policymakers, private sector leaders, development partners, and innovators to advance practical solutions in connectivity, digital innovation, and innovative finance—strengthening the region’s capacity for resilient and sustainable growth. Over the years, the event has become a leading forum for discussion of economic and social development issues in Asia and the Pacific.
