Eighth Tokyo Fiscal Forum
Cohosted by ADBI, the Japan Ministry of Finance’s Policy Research Institute, and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Eighth Tokyo Fiscal Forum explored imperatives for building resilience and reshaping fiscal policy in Asia and the Pacific.
Drawing upon country experiences and lessons learned, policy makers and experts discussed fiscal and monetary policy coordination to address inflation and safeguard the vulnerable from the increasing cost of living. They also examined strategies for advancing carbon net-zero transition, climate finance, and international support for climate mitigation and adaptation measures in high-risk countries.
Other sessions during the forum spotlighted the Japan 2023 Group of Seven (G7) presidency’s agenda and the IMF’s assessment of economic and fiscal challenges in the region.
