Education Sector Group Strategy Session and Retreat 13 to 14 January 2020 Philippines The major focus of the Education Sector Group (EdSG) 2020 Strategy Session and Retreat was the education strategic direction in the context of S2030 and how education can complement and enable synergy across all 7 operational priorities. Specific discussions were about the (i) nature of the learning crisis that many countries in the Asia and Pacific region are facing and how the country diagnostic tools developed by the Research on Improving Education Systems (RISE) can help to identify and better understand the underlying factors contributing to this crisis; and (ii) good practices in skills development and practically-oriented training to produce employable graduates and entrepreneurs.
