Demystifying Intended Nationally Determined Contributions and Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions in Transport 12 September 2016 Philippines The aim of the Paris Agreement cannot be realized without a strong commitment to reduce the nearly one quarter of energy-related carbon dioxide emissions from the global transport sector. Thus, it is imperative to focus on transport-related climate actions countries have included in their Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs) and to strategize on how to translate these targets into actual projects. This workshop engaged a wider set of policymakers, project developers, practitioners, members of the academe, and other stakeholders to demystify the transport-related INDCs and nationally appropriate mitigation actions (NAMAs) in the transport sector. Case studies and accessing climate finance to support sustainable transport projects were also tackled. Demystifying Intended Nationally Determined Contributions and Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions in Transport was a Preforum Training on Transport and Climate Change Mitigation held during ADB Transport Forum 2016.
