Circular Economy of Manila Bay’s Plastic Waste (Circular Economy Webinar Series Session 32)

20 November 2024

The Holcim Circular Explorer project in Manila Bay is a groundbreaking initiative that combines technology, sustainability, and community action to tackle marine pollution. This solar-powered boat collects and recycles plastic waste directly from the water, using advanced onboard systems to turn waste into reusable materials. Beyond cleanup, it actively engages local communities, spreading awareness about recycling and encouraging sustainable practices. Through partnerships with local stakeholders, the project amplifies its impact, making a real difference in protecting the bay’s ecosystem.

This discussion looks at how the Circular Explorer's innovative approach is shaping environmental action, the value of community involvement, spreading awareness about recycling and encouraging sustainable practices.
