ASEAN Tourism Sectoral Plan 2026-2030: Bringing Resilience Amidst Uncertainties
23 July 2026

The ASEAN member states have adopted the ASEAN Tourism Sectoral Plan (ATSP) 2026–2030, a regional roadmap that seeks to position Southeast Asia as a seamless, and high-quality tourism destination. The plan is anchored on the READS framework, which focuses on five strategic pillars: Resilient Tourism, Empowered Tourism Workforce, Accessible and Seamless Travel, Digital Transformation, and Sustainable Tourism. Together, these pillars aim to strengthen the tourism sector’s contribution to economic growth, job creation, and environmental sustainability while enhancing the region’s competitiveness in an increasingly dynamic global tourism landscape.

This webinar provided an overview of the ATSP 2026–2030, including its key initiatives, institutional arrangements, and monitoring and evaluation framework. It brought together senior policymakers, financiers, and tourism experts to discuss opportunities and emerging risks facing the ASEAN tourism economy. The discussion explored how the plan can be leveraged to address challenges related to physical, institutional, and capacity infrastructure, thereby strengthening ASEAN’s position as a competitive tourism destination.
