Advancing Resilient Tourism in Asia and the Pacific: Regional Cooperation and Policy Pathways
14 May 2026

In 2024, tourism contributed more than 8% of regional GDP and supported over 200 million jobs across Asia and the Pacific. As travel demand continues to recover from the pandemic and expand, tourism is expected to play an even greater role in the region’s economy, projected to account for about 11% of regional GDP by 2035. Realizing this potential will require strategic policies, stronger regional cooperation, and better use of data to support informed decision-making. Drawing on the findings of the Asian Economic Integration Report 2026, this webinar will highlight key trends of tourism in the region and introduce a new tourism dashboard designed to track tourism performance and emerging patterns. A panel of experts will discuss the challenges and opportunities in furthering tourism development, while sharing insights on the importance of data to support policy making and investments in developing member countries.
