ADBI-Chulalongkorn University Webinar on Country Policies and Strategies on Carbon Pricing 29 January 2024 The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report on the far-reaching impacts of global warming raised major concerns that required urgent climate action from policymakers and climate-related agencies, as well as the private sector and other stakeholders. However, transitioning toward a low-carbon economy required incentives to be put in place to encourage green initiatives and discourage greenhouse gas emissions. The Asian Development Bank Institute and the Faculty of Economics, Chulalongkorn University, co-organized a webinar to facilitate solution-oriented discussions on these issues. The webinar included three sessions addressing (i) carbon pricing and carbon markets; (ii) country strategies on carbon pricing; and (iii) a discussion on global trends and European Union policies.
