ADB Data Room: Disaster Risk Analytics Explorer

The Disaster Risk Analytics Explorer is an innovative platform designed to harness cutting-edge technologies and comprehensive data models to deliver actionable insights for risk-informed decision-making. This initiative exemplifies ADB’s commitment to solving the region’s complex challenges by working closely with its partners—developing member countries (DMCs), experts, and strategic collaborators—to provide quality development solutions that drive sustainable, inclusive, and resilient growth within the region.

The Explorer is built on four foundational pillars that ensure its effectiveness and scalability:

  • Streamlined Data Collection and Processing: The Explorer integrates diverse datasets, including asset locations, regional and global hazard maps, climate change impact, and sector-specific vulnerabilities. These datasets are standardized and processed to make them AI-ready, enabling seamless analysis and integration across various analytical tools.
  • Integrated Workspace: Users are provided with a unified digital ecosystem that combines multiple tools, such as probabilistic risk assessments, to conduct comprehensive risk assessments and financial impact analyses efficiently. This ensures consistency, accuracy, and ease of use for stakeholders.
  • AI-Driven Analytics: Advanced AI-supported analytics generate dynamic visualizations and respond to user prompts, simplifying resource-intensive analyses. This empowers decision-makers with clear, actionable insights into exposure assessment, scenario analysis, and economic loss estimation.
  • Collaborative Environment: The Explorer fosters collaboration by offering a shared space where DMCs, experts, and partners can engage in knowledge sharing and joint decision-making. This collaborative ecosystem supports future investments and climate initiatives, leveraging ADB’s convening power to drive collective action.

By applying technologies like AI and other advanced tools to comprehensive data models, the Explorer not only democratizes access to critical risk information but also facilitates greater cooperation among DMCs and experts. This empowers stakeholders to identify resilience-building opportunities early, make evidence-based investment decisions, and implement sustainable infrastructure solutions. Through this initiative, ADB’s vision is to deliver innovative, high-impact solutions that address the region’s most pressing challenges—transforming lives, safeguarding the planet, and fostering a more resilient future for Asia and the Pacific.
