Accelerating Digital Health Outcomes with the Cloud

22 November 2022

Over the past decade, cloud computing has revolutionized how people and organizations work around the world by democratizing access to technology, affording organizations of all sizes access to a plethora of digital tools, as well as the security and sustainability benefits of the cloud. Cloud computing is the foundational enabler of the digital transformation of governments, businesses, and organizations of all sizes, making it the default pathway for innovation.

This webinar deep-dived into the healthcare sector and explore the potential for digital health in the region. It also examined how to increase cloud adoption in the healthcare sector (including policy enablers and best practices for digital health) and how digital health can help improve health equity in the region. There was a presentation of a study done by Deloitte on the benefits of cloud-enabled healthcare in the ASEAN region, followed by a panel discussion.

The webinar was part of the “Digital Transformation with the Cloud” policy webinar series organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The webinar series was a multistakeholder dialogue that brought together policymakers, regulators, think tanks, academia, industry, and other key stakeholders to explore how the cloud and forward-thinking, pro-innovation digital policies can accelerate the digital transformation journey of nations. It focused on enhancing collective understanding of the cloud, its benefits, and the policy best practices for digital transformation through the cloud.

The webinars run through 2023 and feature deep-dive sessions about the cloud and its intersection with healthcare, sustainability, and financial services, among others.
