First-ever virtual ACEF concluded marking many firsts

It was the first time that ACEF in its 15th year was held fully online. It was the first time that more than 4,600 participants get to take part in it. The 15th Asia Clean Energy Forum defied the limits presented by the coronavirus pandemic demonstrating that sustainable, resilient and clean energy future cannot be daunted; that the transition to such a future does not waste a single day; and that, learning and collaboration persist and are even more crucial in times of the most unprecedented of crises.

This pandemic may have unraveled a few weaknesses in how humanity has gone about its ways, but it has also presented the urgency to change and the opportunity to reboot for the better. Energy as the fuel for every facet of human activity stands to gain scale efficiencies in adopting a system approach and a multisectoral perspective that is crucial for the world to effectively recover from COVID-19. The 15th ACEF has provided more depth in how interventions in energy and other sectors should be integrated to realize these efficiencies of scope and economies of scale.

The depth and breadth of the knowledge that was shared over the course of the week should leave us with enough heft to keep the work going because 15th ACEF may be over but the clean energy future still awaits.

You may still access the platform to look back on the week that was and check on the 15th ACEF resources. The Energy Sector Group is grateful for everyone’s contribution and participation. Until the 16th ACEF in 2021.
