The Energy SG under one of its technical assistance projects has called an innovation challenge for smart digitalization and applications in disease-resilient and energy-efficient centralized air-conditioning (CAC) systems in public buildings of ADB developing member countries. Up to $295,000 will be awarded for the pilot installations of the best solutions. The challenge is open to startups, academe (university students and faculty), research organizations and independent researchers, technology providers, and other public and private sector entities. Registration and submission of expression of interest will run until 10 May 2021 (23:59 GMT+8). The TA project behind this initiative aims to test and demonstrate innovative solutions that will improve energy efficiency, mitigate the risks of virus transmission, and ensure safe working conditions in public buildings by deploying efficient, clean, and smart CAC systems. The TA is supported by the High-Level Technology Fund (HLTF) and the Clean Energy Fund (CEF) under the Clean Energy Financing Partnership Facility (CEFPF). Not only will it seek to curtail the spread of disease the TA project aims to help generate energy savings from smart and energy-efficient applications in CAC systems.
