The 15th Annual Consultation Meeting (ACM) for the Clean Energy Financing Partnership Facility (CEFPF) was held on 16 September 2022. The Chief Sector Officer and CEFPF Fund Manager Sungsup Ra opened the meeting and acknowledged the presence of the representatives from the governments of Australia, Japan, Spain, and Sweden who joined by Zoom and the representatives from the Government of the United Kingdom who attended the meeting in person. Director General Bruno Carrasco gave the welcome remarks for the Annual Consultation Meeting and acknowledged the contribution of the CEFPF in promoting clean energy in ADB operations. ADB reported to the partners, the progress, and achievements of the CEFPF and the initial findings of the external evaluation of the Clean Energy Fund. The Energy Transition Team lead by Yoonah Lee introduced the newly established Energy Transition Mechanism Partnership Trust Fund which has an initial funding from the Government of Japan. Joao Aleluia on behalf of SEEN Pradeep Tharakan, CWEN Nana Gurgenidze and Saumya Kailasapathy on behalf of PSOD Dominic Mellor presented their projects, highlighting the value added of CEFPF support to clean energy projects in the DMCs. The discussion with partners focused on the proposed updates to the Design and Monitoring Framework and the priorities for CEFPF which includes access to energy, gender mainstreaming, private sector climate financing and knowledge dissemination, among others. With support from its partners, the CEFPF will continue to provide financing to help DMCs improve their energy security and decrease the rate of climate change through increased use of clean energy.
