CEFPF Annual Consultation Meeting Held

The 14th Annual Consultation Meeting (ACM) for the Clean Energy Financing Partnership Facility (CEFPF) was held on 17 November 2021. The Chief of Energy Sector Group Priyantha Wijayatunga welcomed representatives from the Governments of Australia, Japan, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. ADB informed the partners on the progress and achievements of the CEFPF, update on the ADB Clean Energy Investment Program and the approval of the 2021 Energy Policy. SAEN Hongwei Zhang, CWEN Yun Ji Suh, and SEEN Daniela Schmidt also presented their projects, highlighting the significance of CEFPF support to clean energy projects in the DMCs. The discussion with the partners focused on the proposed updates to the Design and Monitoring Framework and the priorities for CEFPF which includes access to energy, clean energy technologies, energy efficiency, gender mainstreaming, private sector climate financing and knowledge dissemination, among others. With the support from its partners, the CEFPF will continue to provide financing to help DMCs improve their energy security and decrease the rate of climate change through increased use of clean energy. ​​​​​​​The CEFPF is composed of the Clean Energy Fund, the Asian Clean Energy Fund, the Carbon Capture and Storage Fund, the Canadian Climate Fund for the Private Sector in Asia and the newly established Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization Innovation Fund which can support the deployment of innovative artificial intelligence and digitalization technologies in the DMCs. The CEFPF is being managed by the Sector Advisory Division in SDCC. The next batch application deadline is on 31 January 2022.
