In fulfillment of the agreement with the financing partners, the Clean Energy Financing Partnership Facility (CEFPF) 2020 Semiannual Progress Report was submitted on 10 August 2020. The report highlights the fund allocations to eight projects amounting to $9.5 million from 1 January to 30 June 2020. These projects will contribute to improving access to energy, enhancing energy security, and decreasing the rate of climate change in the developing member countries.Since its establishment in 2007, the CEFPF has allocated a total of $257.5 million to 205 clean energy projects. The allocation is expected to leverage $4.7 billion of clean energy investments from ADB, $1.5 billion of investments from the private sector, and $2.2 billion from the non-private sector. Aside from leveraging clean energy investments, supported projects are also deploying new clean energy technologies, introducing new approaches to promote clean energy, providing cobenefits on productivity, and reducing barriers to clean energy development in the DMCs.CEFPF was established in 2007 to help improve energy security in ADB DMCs and decrease the rate of climate change. It supports the deployment of new, more efficient, and less polluting supply and end-use technologies, either through grant or non-grant resources. The deadline for the next application cycle will be on 31 October 2020.
