Dr. Xiaohong Zhang works as an Associate Expert with Wetlands International. She is now working on the Flyway Bottleneck Yellow Sea Project as a project manager based in China representing Wetlands International. She started with Wetlands International in China in 2002 and was responsible for project development, project management and operation. She had ever managed and implemented integrated wetlands biodiversity conservation and restoration projects over 17 provinces funded by UNDP, UNEP, EU and World Bank, AusAID, as well as worked on some ADB loan projects in Henan, Hubei and Xinjiang as a co wetland management specialist in partnership with governments, NGOs, corporate sectors, universities, research institutes and international NGOs. She ever organized a series of national and regional wetlands symposium and workshops tailored to the integrated peatlands restoration and management for Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau/Altay Mountains, Asian Wetlands Symposiums, side events of Ramsar Convention COP and UNFCCC. She has a doctorate in environmental Geography from China.
