Zeeshan Memon

Executive Director, Sindh Agricultural and Forestry Workers Coordinating Organization, Pakistan
Profile / Bio

Zeeshan Memon is a development professional with over a two decades of experience in designing, managing, and monitoring community-led, climate-resilient, and inclusive development programs in Pakistan, with a strong focus on poor and vulnerable populations. He currently serves as Executive Director at the Sindh Agricultural and Forestry Workers Coordinating Organization, a leading national NGO working across climate adaptation, livelihoods, social protection, and community resilience in Pakistan.

His work is grounded in the understanding that climate change impacts are experienced locally and disproportionately affect women and marginalized groups due to structural inequalities and limited access to resources. Zeeshan has led programs that integrate livelihoods development, climate risk-informed planning, financial inclusion, and social protection, ensuring that poverty reduction interventions contribute directly to climate resilience outcomes at both household and community levels.

He has extensive experience in strengthening climate-resilient livelihoods through pathways such as microenterprise development, MSME support, skills development, adaptive social safety nets, and community-based producer groups and cooperatives. His approach emphasizes women’s empowerment, social capital, and collective action, recognizing their central role in building resilience to climate shocks and long-term stresses.

Zeeshan has also worked closely with local governments, private sector actors, and financial institutions to improve the enabling environment for scaling community-led adaptation, including policy alignment, capacity building, and public–private partnerships. He brings strong expertise in results-based management, impact measurement, and adaptive learning.

He regularly represents his organization in national and regional forums, contributing practical insights on scaling climate-resilient livelihoods and locally driven adaptation solutions across diverse development contexts.
