Yuki is the Public Management Economist at ADB's Pacific Regional Office.
Yuki wants to focus her work on Asia as she thinks it is the most dynamic region in the world. Yuki Ikeda is a Results Management Specialist at ADB's Strategy and Policy Department (SPD).
Yuki is one of the main authors of the 2014 DEfR and was responsible for a chapter on ADB’s contributions to development results through recently completed operations. Prior to joining ADB, Yuki was with the World Bank, where she had opportunities to learn about many joint projects with ADB. It was also during this time when she received news about the ADB recruitment outreach mission to Tokyo in June 2014, through an email newsletter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
Yuki registered for the ADB career presentation and applied for a pre-selected interview. Yuki found the presentation very informative, especially discussions on ADB's Strategy 2020 and the Midterm Review. She was also delighted by the presentation of ADB staff, Hisaka Kimura, on Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD) projects and to learn that ADB staff are from diverse backgrounds. It came as a surprise during the event that recruitment at ADB takes about 6 months to 2 years, but in the case of Yuki, she applied for her current position in July 2014 and was offered the job in November 2014, only 5 months after the recruitment mission and her interview in Tokyo. She’s happy to be with ADB especially being in SPD as it gives her an opportunity to gain a broad understanding of ADB's roles, contributions, and responsibilities in the region. She is excited to be involved in formulating ADB’s new results framework and its alignment to new strategies for the post-Strategy 2020 years.
