Professor Youngsup Choi received his Doctor of Philosophy in economics (labor economics major) in 1996 from Korea University. During the foreign exchange crisis, Professor Choi was specially appointed as a statistics officer at the Korea National Statistical Office where he was in charge of compiling employment statistics. Professor Choi also has twenty years of working experience at national research institutes, including the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training. Due to his diligence, Professor Choi was awarded an Industrial Service Medal in 2019. Since the second semester of 2020, Professor Choi teaches at the Korea University of Technology and Education.
