Dr. Yonghui Zhu is a professor of hydraulic engineering and Director of International Cooperation Department at the Changjiang River Scientific Research Institute (CRSRI). He graduated in water conservancy and hydropower engineering from Hohai University, China, in 1998, and obtained a doctorate in hydraulic engineering from Delft University of Technology in 2006. Dr. Zhu joined the IAHR in 2007 and is currently member of the executive committee of IAHR China Chapter since 2014. He is a tutor for doctoral candidates in Hohai University and a part-time tutor for postgraduate students in Wuhan University. He provides peer-reviewing service to nearly 20 international and national journals.
Dr. Zhu’s research interests include flood protection and disaster mitigation, evolution and regulation of rivers and lakes, river modeling, etc. He has been responsible for and participated in more than 60 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Key Research and Development Program of China, National Science and Technology Support Program, Public Welfare Research Projects of the Ministry of Water Resources, and national major water conservancy engineering research projects. He has published 130+ peer reviewed papers and 3 books.
