Profile / Bio

Yating Ru is a Natural Resources and Agriculture Economist with the Agriculture, Food, Nature, and Rural Development Sector Group at the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Her work focuses on interdisciplinary approaches that integrate geospatial big data, data science tools, and economic analysis to address development challenges related to poverty, food insecurity, environmental degradation, and climate change. Before joining ADB, Yating worked as a Research Analyst at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in Washington, D.C. She holds a Ph.D. and a Master’s degree from Cornell University.
