Deputy Director, Division of Social Service and Regional Development, Administrative Center for China’s Agenda 21 (ACCA21) Profile / Bio Profile / Bio Over the past few years, Xian Zhang has always been contributing himself into pushing the work on planning energy strategies, tackling with Climate Change, and also accelerating the development of CCUS technology in China as well as supervising and extending international bilateral and multilateral programs (e.g. CSLF Capacity Building Programs, China-Australia CO2 geological storage program (CAGS), China-EU Cooperation on Near Zero Emission Coal (NZEC), et al.) with international organizations like CSLF, IEA, GCCSI, ADB etc. Especially, he has deeply participated in organizing and releasing Roadmap for Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage Technology (2019) during 2017-2019, and he is the lead author of main chapters of the China’s 3rd National Climate Change Assessment Report and the China’s 4th National Climate Change Assessment Report. Based on his research and management experience, he has published more than 60 papers and 20 books. He has taken a lead in or participated in more than 30 national, provincial/ministry-level and international exchange cooperation research projects. He has facilitated the establishment of China CCUS Industrial Development Strategic Innovation Alliance and Technology Transfer South-South Cooperation Center, and actively participated in international and regional climate change negotiation and cooperation like COP, APN, etc. as a government representative on behalf of the country.
