International Public Health Specialist, Burnet Institute for Medical Research and Public Health Profile / Bio Profile / Bio Wendy Holmes is an independent international public health consultant in Sri Lanka. She is an international public health physician and researcher with an interest in population aging in low-income settings. Dr. Holmes has 30 years of experience in health and development. Her interests include healthy aging, long-term care, community eye health, strengthening health systems, women’s and children’s health, HIV prevention and care, and policy development. She was Deputy Director of the Center for International Health of the Burnet Institute (2004-2010) and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Monash University and University of Melbourne. Dr. Holmes was Technical Director for the Sri Lanka Better Vision Healthy Aging program of the Burnet Institute in Melbourne, Australia (2012-2016). She has a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and an MSc from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, United Kingdom. Follow on Materials
