Mr. Weihua Liu was elected as Executive Director of Asian Development Bank effective January 2021.
Mr. Liu previously served as the Deputy Director General of the Department of International Economics and Financial Cooperation at the PRC Ministry of Finance and the Executive Director for China at the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
Mr. Liu started his career in 1987 at the School of Finance and Accounting in Hunan Province. And then moving on with different positions with the Ministry of Finance.
Mr. Liu holds a master’s degree in accountancy from George Washington University, a master’s degree in economics from the PRC Institute of Fiscal Science, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Hunan College of Finance and Economics.
