Vigil Yu

Vigil Yu is a Senior Program Officer at Verra, a global nonprofit that develops and manages leading environmental standards, including the Plastic Waste Reduction Standard. In her role, Vigil coordinates Verra’s policy engagement and strategic partnerships globally, with a particular focus on Asia. She works closely with governments, multilateral institutions, and private sector actors to integrate high-integrity Plastic Credits into national and regional Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) systems. Vigil has been closely following the Global Plastics Treaty negotiations and contributes to shaping innovative financing mechanisms that advance circular economy transitions. Before joining Verra, she worked on the circular economy and policy advocacy at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation in China. She holds a master’s degree in Industrial Ecology.
