Dr Yiengprugsawan has multidisciplinary backgrounds in economic development, social policy, and population health in the Asia-Pacific region. Over the past decade, she has led quantitative analyses on lifecourse determinants of health and risk factors for chronic non-communicable diseases. At CEPAR, Vasoontara is currently investigating health-wealth dynamics in later life and long-term care policies in emerging Asia, including Indonesia, Mongolia, Thailand, and Vietnam. Vasoontara has previously held a fellowship on primary health care and older persons for the World Health Organization’s Asia-Pacific Observatory on Health Systems and Policies. She has recently contributed to a case study for ADB Joint Ministers of Finance and Health Meeting on Universal Health Coverage and COVID-19.
