Usman is currently working as a Water Resource Modeler/Hydrologist at Murray Darling Basin Authority/eWater Australia. Previously, he worked with the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), Pakistan, and National Engineering Services of Pakistan (NESPAK) for almost 8 years on World Bank and Asian Development Bank-funded projects like the Dasu Dam Project, Sindh Water Sector Improvement Project, and Water Sector Capacity Building of Indus Basin.

He received his Ph.D. in Water Resource Engineering from the University of Wollongong on the International Postgraduate Tuition Award (IPTA) scholarship by the Australian Federal Government.

He has teaching experience of 4 years at the University of Wollongong Australia where he taught several Water Resources courses and was privileged to be nominated for VC’s award for “Outstanding Contribution to Teaching and Learning (OCTAL)” at the University of Wollongong, Australia.

He has been awarded the Three Minutes thesis presentation award at the University of Woollongong. His research interests are on issues related to water resources management, flood adaptation, water storage, and the Nexus approach for food-energy-water. My academic works appeared and were acknowledged in internationally recognized journals. To support and present his research activities, he has received a travel grant from the Asian Development Bank. To disseminate my research findings in the broader scientific community, he has made my attendance at several domestic and international conferences.

He has worked in a multi-cultural team and demonstrated highly polished technical and interpersonal skills to deal with the water sector, agriculture, and dam projects. His professional drive provided the requisite knowledge, skills, tools & techniques that are essential for today’s competitive market.
