Unika Shrestha

Unika is a social sector economist at ADB. She works with governments in South Asia to support the design, preparation, and implementation of loan and technical assistance projects across education, skills development, and social protection sectors. 

Prior to joining ADB, she worked with the World Bank education team, including on the flagship World Development Report 2018 on education, in which she assessed the role played by inherent system complexities as well as political economy forces in implementing education policies and programs. Her professional experience spans multiple countries and regions, including India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Philippines, Indonesia, Mexico, Chile, and Uganda.
