Country Director, HelpAge International Profile / Bio Ms. Thuy Bich Tran is the country director of HelpAge International in Viet Nam. She holds a master's degree in Development Management from the Asian Institute of Management. She has more than 30 years of experience working in the development sector, with 25 years specifically focused on ageing. She is one of the founders of community based, relevant, comprehensive and sustainable model in Viet Nam, so so-called Intergenerational Self Help Club (ISHC), which promotes healthy and active ageing in Viet Nam, using a community-driven development approach. From an internationally funded project model, the ISHC has now become the national model and target in a number of government policies. Thanks to her contribution in the ageing area, Ms. Thuy is recognized as one of the Healthy Ageing 50 - Leaders transforming the world to be a better place to grow older - a UN Decade of Healthy Ageing initiative.
