Technical Director, Tonkin + Taylor Profile / Bio Tom Shand is a Technical Director of Coastal Engineering at Tonkin + Taylor and an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Auckland. He has more than 20 years of experience working across the Pacific on projects ranging from coastal hazard and risk assessment, climate adaptation, and design and construction of coastal structures. Tom was lead author of the PRIF guidance documents on the Design of Coastal Protection Works in Pacific Islands Countries and Monitoring and Management of Coastal Protection Works.
