Deputy Director, Impact and Marketing of Science Directorate, International Cooperation Center for Agronomic Research and Development Profile / Bio Profile / Bio Thierry is an agricultural economist by training, a development expert by experience. Over the past 4 years, he has worked extensively on climate change and green economy related matters. In 2002, he joined the International Cooperation Center for Agronomic Research and Development (CIRAD) and was seconded to the Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI), a French think-tank. There, he initiated and then led its Foreign Aid Policy Program. Feeling the need for field work, he joined the Development Bank of Southern Africa as a French technical assistant (still seconded by the CIRAD) in 2007. Mr. Giordano worked for 2 years on a World Bank research program aiming at investigating rural livelihoods in seven countries and understanding the role of agriculture in the incipient economic transitions of developing countries. He took an active part in the conception of a National Green Fund, hosted by the DBSA and funded by the National Treasury, which was successfully launched in September 2012.
